CASCADE BAR
This is a revitalised hospitality space set in the heart of central Christchurch, thoughtfully reworked to enhance both its character and functionality.
Spanning two levels and opening out to a lively laneway courtyard, the project presented a unique challenge of creating a cohesive experience across multiple spaces while maintaining a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.
The refurbishment introduced a new bar and back-bar joinery as a central focal point, complemented by custom curved booth seating that encourages lingering and social connection. Feature wallpaper and carefully selected furniture throughout add warmth, texture, and a sense of personality, while helping to define distinct zones within the venue.
Upstairs, quieter seating and a flexible function area overlooks the courtyard below, offering a more intimate setting framed by soft lighting and views across the space. At ground level, the connection to the sheltered courtyard creates a seamless indoor-outdoor experience, ideal for after-work drinks, casual dining, or live music evenings.
The result is a versatile hospitality venue, an adaptable, welcoming space designed to evolve throughout the day and into the evening, and to bring people together in the heart of the city
